Gynecology and Maternity

  1. What does the maternity bag consist of?
  • This bag contains gown, slipper, tissue, latex gloves, sterile gloves, drop sheet.
  1. Does the delivery operation complications which extended the hospitalization time, cost extra expenses?
  • In natural childbirth no, but in cesarean operation the expenses will increase due to the procedure.
  1. Is film recording allowed in operating room?
  • No, it is forbidden due to the Islamic Republic regulations.
  1. When will the patient discharge?
  • She will discharge 24 until 72 hours after delivery.
  1. What are identification documents needed for being hospitalized for delivery operation?
  • ID card or passport or test card of both parents, presence of husband, pregnancy documents including sonography, tests and baby book.

  • Test results are hand in daily after 2 PM The routine test results are ready after 24 to 72 hours normally.

  • No, under no circumstances the original documents would hand in to anybody. In some certain cases the certified copy is allowed.

  1. What is the Laparoscopic Surgery?
  • Laparoscopic surgery has many advantages over open surgery. The hospitalization period after laparoscopy is shorter than the traditional procedure. The average length of hospital stay after laparoscopy is 1 to 2 days and the length of hospital stay after open surgery is 5 to 7 days. In addition, since the incisions are small in laparoscopic surgery, ulcers are less likely to be infected. Patients often report less pain in laparoscopic surgery.
  1. For which cases the Laparoscopic Surgery could be done?
  • Today, laparoscopy is used in both the pelvic and abdominal area. Laparoscopic removal of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and tubal ligation, infertility and endometriosis are some of these cases.
  1. What are the problems with laparoscopic surgery?
  • The most common problem with any type of surgeries is bleeding and infection. Other complications that are less likely to occur include abdomen, intestine, bladder and blood vessels’ injury. During laparoscopic surgery, it is also possible to become an open surgery. This is mostly the case for people who have had open surgery and have many wounds. But if the physician is so skillful, it’s less likely to undergo open surgery.
  1. Is laparoscopic pain similar to open surgical pain?
  • Laparoscopic surgery has a little pain but not painless. In open surgeries, there is often a 6 to 8 inch gap in the abdomen. But during laparoscopic surgery, 4 to 6 quarter-inch incisions are made. The required equipment enter the abdomen during surgery through these incisions.
  1. Is laparoscopic surgery suitable for a patient who have had an open surgery before?
  • While your surgery is likely to be open surgery, our answer is yes. We believe that most patients have the chance of successful laparoscopic surgery.   • CT-scan unit works from 7:30 AM to 19:30 PM and sonography unit working time for out-patients depends on the appointment time that doctor had set. Emergency CT-scan and sonography will be done all day long.
  1. Is it possible to make an appointment by telephone?
  • No, presence of the patient is necessary.
  1. For what weight CT-scan and sonography will be done?
  • Sonography has no weight limit but CT-scan will be done just for the patients up to 120kg.
  1. Any preparation needed for Imaging?
  • Fasting from 6 hours before sonography and drinking lots of water is compulsory. For CT-scan, if it is with injection the patient should fast from 6 hours before and the test results such as Cr and BUN should be available. For non-injection CT-scan there is no need for preparation.
  1. For what weight MRI will be done?
  • It will be done just for patients under 110kg weights.
  1. Any preparation needed for performing MRI?
  • If it is with injection, the patient should fast and bring the required tests and drugs, but some MRI tests needs a special type of preparations that will be given to the patient on the admission day.

Nutrition

  1. Does the hospital provide food for patient attendants?
  • For children under 18 years old, the food will be provided for their attendants.
  1. Is it possible for foreign patients to order food other than the usual hospital meal?
  • Under supervision of the nutritionist, it could be done.
